Let’s Have Some Fun

Whip Up Some Coffee

What’s the latest internet craze? Nothing other than dalgona coffee (named after a Korean candy,) aka “whipped coffee.”  It began on TikTok several days ago, and now millions of views later, it’s a craze.  Yep.  Dalgona coffee is the opposite of a latte, so instead of whipping milk then pouring over espresso, you whip the actual coffee.  Intrigued?  Yah, same here.  So apparently you take equal parts of instant coffee, granulated sugar, and water (2 tablespoons each) and whisk it together.  Once the texture is light and airy and peaks are formed, you’re ready to pour that goodness right on top of your favorite milk.  Last step, mix everything up and enjoy.  Voila!

Let’s Make It Colorful

Add Some Pigments

Per Emerald Insights, 90% of consumers decide whether to buy a product based solely on color and perceived taste.  Color is a big deal, but so is our desire for more natural products.  The issue is that natural colors have not always offered the same vibrancy as synthetic equivalents.  Which is why a new discovery by the New Zealand Institute for Plant and Food Research is such a big deal.  They’ve found a new class of pigments, known as auronidins, that can potentially be used in snacks for intense natural coloring.  This has not been scientifically tested yet, but preliminary research shows auronidins do provide a wide range of hues.  Wishing us colorful days ahead.
