Our Nation’s Heroes

Having celebrated and saluted US military heroes this past Monday, I’d like to give a shout-out to Frito-Lay, who is honoring armed service members with specially marked ‘Salutes’ and ‘Our Nation’s Heroes’ Frito bags. They are also donating $100k to Carry The Load, a nonprofit founded in 2011 by two former US Navy SEALS dedicated to providing active, meaningful ways to honor and celebrate the sacrifices made by US military, veterans, first responders and families. Frito printed 22 million special bags, one to represent each of the total number of former and active duty members who have served in the US military. Thank you to all who have served or are currently serving our country!

The FruitGuys Sustainable Farm Awards

Our friends at The FruitGuys not only help us provide tasty fruit to many of our clients, but they also award small farms to help fund sustainability projects. This money helps finance things such as setting up bee hotels, improving drainage, planting trees, etc. The FruitGuys Community Fund began in 2012, and to-date they have awarded 70 grants totaling more than a quarter of a million dollars. So every time you eat a peach in the office courtesy of The FruitGuys, just know that they are fruit friends to you and small farms across America.
