Trust
It’s a Big Deal
It’s a matter of trust. Five food brands made Morning Consult’s first annual list of the Top 25 Most Trusted Brands in America. Participants were asked, “How much do you trust each brand to do what is right?” Overall, U.S. adults are more likely to trust brands that have been around for a while, mainly because of nostalgia (you get comfortable with what you grow up with). However, younger consumers are more skeptical of these legacy companies. Wondering which companies made the top of the list? Drum roll please… M&M’s came in at #10, Cheerios #9, and the highest ranked food brand on the list was Hershey at #7. Now on to more sweet things…
Ruby Chocolate Ice Cream Bar
Why Not?
Just in time for Valentine’s Day! Chocolate lovers can rejoice as ruby chocolate is coming to Unilever’s Magnum ice cream brand. Ruby is the 4th type of chocolate (because just 3 kinds of chocolate isn’t enough) and comes from a distinct cacao bean discovered more than a generation ago. These beans are processed differently, and they produce a dark-pink-hued ruby chocolate that has a tart taste (similar to berries). Ruby chocolate was unveiled in Asia in 2017, but because of strict chocolate labeling regulations in the U.S. it hasn’t hit the U.S. market until now. Per the National Retail Federation, $1.8 billion was spent on candy last Valentine’s Day. So this year, why not let pink chocolate into your heart?
