Meet Alba
The Law of Attraction states that our mind has the power to translate our thoughts into reality. Every day, our thoughts and emotions act like magnets bringing in what they give out. This week I was lucky enough to talk with an individual who epitomizes the positive impact of a strong mind and stronger work ethic. Alba Morda Silvestri is an Account Executive from Philadelphia. Her confidence and outlook cannot help but attract that same energy from every person she touches.
With sixteen years spent in the same territory, Alba has heard the question, “How do you still perform?” more than a few times. “Simple, you just get up and work,” she told me. “I have this fire inside me, always having something to chase keeps me going. I treat this as my own company and I’m the CEO. I have to make sure I keep pushing forward.”

“The time I have spent in this area honing my skills has given me a confidence people respond to. Clients like to buy things from confident, experienced people who can guide them and be a consultant for a solution that will help their business. I take something from every conversation I have and use it to help my next conversation.”
Belief in one’s own ability can be a point of contention in the sales world. It can be challenging to push forward and remind yourself of past successes when things aren’t going your way. “I think it is so easy to keep your head down when you hear ‘no,’ especially after putting the work in. I always tell the newer reps to stick it out – you have to. You get any group of sales people in a room and we have all dealt with rejection. But successful people are successful because they are passionate and love what they do. If you are willing to put the work in, believe that the struggles will pass, and find that silver lining, you will be amazed at what you can accomplish.” I can’t help but smile as I am typing this feeling the impact Alba’s words have had on me since our conversation.
This week, put into the world what you want back from it. The world could use as many positive thoughts as we can give it.
LOOKING AHEAD: Alba’s message came at a perfect time. Her positive outlook is infectious and is rooted in passion. I think we can all benefit from this message and win our own individual battles if we are willing to believe that they will pass.
