Can’t Stop Eating
Lay’s, Doritos, and Cheetos
A recent Taking Stock with Teens survey looked at Gen Z’s spending habits and brand loyalties. Per this survey, Gen Zs (also known as the iGen, born between 1995 and 2000) are impassioned to support the environment, with nearly half claiming to change their behavior to use less plastic, recycle more, and ditch the plastic straws. For this group, snackification is most ideal for their lifestyle, as they tend to make a meal out of snacks rather than eating a full meal 3x per day. Which snacks were their favorites? Lay’s potato chips, Goldfish, Kellogg’s Cheez-Its, Doritos and Cheetos were the top five favs. Munch on!
I Just Can’t Stop
Eating Halloween Candy
Did you know there is a scientific reason why you can’t stop eating Halloween candy? Let’s be mindful this Friday and break things down in preparation for this sugar filled holiday. When you take sugar, fat, and salt and mix it into one product that tastes oh-so-yummy, the combination of these three literally activates the area of your brain that recognizes rewards, and turns off the signals that regulate hunger. On top of all of this, Halloween is filled with fond memories, which is then linked to nostalgia and warm and fuzzy feelings, and the reaction to eat is heightened even more! How to ensure you stop long before the stomachache starts? That’s why I’m here! Knowing is half the battle – so enjoy the holiday, stay mindful, and try not to binge.
