Folgers, the iconic brand, has been helping Americans wake up to the smell of coffee for almost 170 years. That sure is a feat to accomplish considering so much has happened in the world of coffee. Tough competition, new trends, and massive shifts in how consumers actually drink coffee have all been knocking on the door of this iconic brand. However, through all of this, Folgers, a J.M. Smucker-owned brand, is still the leading ground coffee of choice in grocery stores. They also have used their long history to their advantage, and ensured that their advertising and marketing is emotional, heartwarming, and impacts the senses. I can just smell the coffee! And with that, kudos to Folgers as they continue to make coffee that stretches from the past to the present day. And now we are all singing their catchy jingle!

There’s been a seismic shift in how consumers eat, and that includes the addition and importance of plant-based foods. Nearly 65% of consumers worldwide have increased their consumption of plant-based foods, which in turn has shifted how manufacturers see product innovation. However, it’s important to note that consumers still demand great taste. Yep, according to Mintel, “taste is the top reason U.S. adults who eat plant-based proteins do so.” Taste (52%) outranks considerations like diet (10%), animal protection (11%), environment (13%), and even health (39%). Moral of this story? Taste matters.
