Let’s Simplify Coffee With…
Science
Meet Christopher Hendon – a Computational Materials Chemistry professor and a “resident scientist” for specialty coffee. He’s known for conducting tons of experiments on espresso extraction and grinding roasted coffee. With all of this research, he’s published scientific articles and books and even helped crown a U.K. Barista Champion! His journey started in England where he became friends with Maxwell Colonna-Dashwood as he was pursuing his Ph.D. There he learned how coffee can vary depending on various circumstances. For example, by adjusting amounts of sodium, magnesium, and calcium in water, the flavor profile of the brewed coffee will change. Exciting stuff! So let’s geek out to coffee, let’s add some science.
Welcome Back
The Loveable Optimist
Chips Ahoy, a Mondelez International brand, announced that they will be bringing back their mascot Chip after a six year hiatus. Chip is coming back from retirement, getting a digital makeover, and is here to promote two new cookie mashup products that include Reese’s Pieces and Hershey’s chocolate chips. The campaign will focus on how these awesome flavor combos come together to help spread happiness; it does help that Chip is described as a “loveable optimist.” Who doesn’t love a loveable optimist?
Yours Truly,
