Make It Bold
But Not Too Bold
Gen Z plays it safe – safe in terms of the flavors they crave. A recent study shows that Gen Z craves bold flavors, but are a bit less adventurous than Millennials when it comes to flavor combinations. Currently, Gen Z is similar to Millennials when it comes to wanting easy-to-prepare meals and snacks, but Gen Zers want more organic and natural foods, and especially foods without additives. In terms of actual flavor profiles, Gen Z tends to stick to familiar flavors.
One thing that’s for sure, regardless of what it is, is should absolutely be Instagramable.
And speaking of Insta…
Make It Insta-Worthy
That’s What Lay’s Said
In 1932, the iconic Lay’s Chips launched, and recently the brand has undergone a snack lift to tailor to the insta crowd. What can you expect? The new packaging has food photography taken with a top down angle, a smaller logo, less text, and more images. The brand hasn’t changed packaging since 2007, and is now redesigning the entire brand, including the newest addition: Flamin’ Hot Dill Pickle. The new designs are more in-line with how Millennials and Gen Z folks visualize food. Don’t fret! It’s a new tasty look, with the same tasty flavor.
